Mulchfest 2017 – Here’s what to do with your holiday tree

‘It was the season.  

Now its time to recycle those Christmas trees and make way for the new year.

Mulchfest, the annual recycling of trees begins Saturday, December 31, 2016 and continues through Sunday, January 8, 2017.  Individuals can drop off their tree at various NYC parks in the five boroughs.  Roy Wilkins and Brookville Parks will again be participating sites.  Click here for a full list of sites.

 Brookville Park will also be a site for chipping.  On January 7th and 8th, chipping locations will collect trees and individual can pick up their very own bag of mulch.

The NYC Department of Sanitation will also be conducting curbside collections of trees from Tuesday, January 3, 2017 to Saturday, January 14, 2017

Remember to remove all lights, ornaments and netting!
